Apache Springs Ranch has been created to provide the ultimate, world class experience for Equine Facilitated Learning.
Due to their high level of sensitivity, horses are kind, honest, and gentle teachers that are acutely aware of our internal emotional states. They can offer us a safe environment to consciously reconnect with our suppressed needs, our genuine emotions, and the patterns we bring to our relationships.
You will be joining together with a team of very wise horses for a chance to be in community, play, laugh and support you as you embrace the next chapter of your own journey.
No horse experience is required and all work takes place on the ground.
Nancy McKay, Equus Coach
I believe that experiences are made even better when they are shared with friends. That’s why I asked TJ Killoran, owner of the Apache Springs Ranch and one of the best Master Facilitator’s to host and co-facilitate the first Dragonfly Retreat of 2022.
I began transforming my life after getting sober in 2009 and being diagnosed and treated for ovarian cancer in 2015. I first experienced the magic of horses in 2017 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was working with a beautiful white mare. Her name was Artemis, I told her a lot of things and one of them being that I didn't love myself. She looked into my soul and I felt my heart open and felt love for myself for the first time. In 2018 I had two magical experiences, a week apart. One in Tucson, Arizona and one outside of Pismo Beach, California. In Tucson, Stormy, a beautiful and huge draft mare, gave me the message that I had my own back, and she stood right behind me to lean on until I believed it. She also waved her head over mine, giving me the message that I needed to get grounded. A week later in California, Spirit, another beautiful mare, echoed Stormy's actions of sweeping her head over mine – “you need to get grounded, girl friend!” I knew then that I had to learn this work to give my clients the opportunity to feel the magic that these amazing, intuitive, beautiful beings can give us.
I am living proof that recovery from just about anything and transformation are possible no matter what age we are.
I am a certified Equus Coach® through The Koelle Institute and a certified Wayfinder Life Coach through Martha Beck, Inc..

Equus Coaching® is an opportunity for you to partner with a horse, on the ground, to gain a visceral understanding of your own energy and the ways your inner dialogue impacts all areas of your life.
Why Partner with Horses?
Well, horses simply do not lie! Horses are herd animals and because of their inherent gentle nature and curiosity they seek connection, even with people. Horses reflect the truth of the present moment. As such, they mirror back to you the variations of the ripple effect your energy is having on them and others in their surrounding environment. If you are willing and authentic with your feelings, the horse is drawn to you and your energy. Authenticity = Safety and Safety = Connection.
What Can I Get Out of Equus Coaching®?
In partnership with the horses, as Equus Coaches®, we will guide you on a profound and personal journey to explore and discover your true nature. You will have the opportunity to gain clarity and awareness of the patterns that may be holding you back and shape how you show up in the world.
“The session I had with Nancy provided a humongous energetic shift in my body, It allowed me to explore the attachments I had, and not only to release them, but to really rely on my body to provide the connection that I'm seeking. Thank you, Nancy for this very profound healing session.” ~ Charmiane
“My experience with Nancy and her equine coaching was transformative. I walked in, anxious and doubtful about myself and my direction. I walked out, tall, assured with a renewed sense of optimism and determination. Nancy is a phenomenal coach. I shared some deeply personal things with her, and she received those with love. Through her guidance I rediscovered and more importantly appreciated/honored my core, my essence, myself. ~Arezou
“My time with Nancy and her equine coaching was powerful for me. My focuses on self-love, trust, and forgiveness were met with a wave of emotion through Nancy's gentle guidance and the horse's motions. Nancy was kind and persistent, not letting me give up on the nuggets of undeniable truth. My time in the round pen renewed my soul. ~Kathi
